Lhasa Gonggar Airport (LXA) has flights from Chengdu, Xi'an, Beijing, and Shanghai. The Qinghai–Tibet railway from Xining/Chengdu is scenic. A Tibet Travel Permit is required for foreign tourists — arrange via a licensed agency.
